UNLEASH the power of your fingers during Pandemic
UNLEASH the power of your fingers during Pandemic
Mudra is a gesture or
finger-play with the hands and the Bhramara Mudra is one which is very important during the Pandemic as
that improves the health of the lungs and large intestine, balances the immune system
(particularly in cases of over-reaction of immune, reduces allergic reactions
to food and pollen, soothes cough and irritated lungs.)
Who said the Pandemic is over? You must take guard not to let anyone spit in
public places as spitting causes germs to circulate and operate in the air. If you see anyone
spitting in public places, educate them not to do so politely. Don't just walk away. Educating them is important . Warn them of the
consequences that can befall. Spitting in public places can also give room for Tuberculosis. Also
wear a mask and sanitize your hands. These are mandatory.
Mudras are a boon to mankind to remain
safe during crisis with simple hand gestures.
How to perform the Bhramara Mudra:
Coil the index finger to touch the base
of the thumb in both hands. Then, lightly press the tip of the Middle finger
with that of the Thumb. The Ring Finger and Little Finger to be extended
straight out. So, in actual, the space
element and the air element combine to produce the desired effect which is
helpful now, considering it involves the lung and balances the immune system. (Pic Inset)
This Mudra is to be performed with both
hands simultaneously at any time of day or night. If you encounter any
allergies, skin rashes, body itching, sneezing, etc., this Bhramara Mudra comes
to your rescue to heal you completely. It prevents and treats common cold, running
nose, hay fever and tonsillitis. Helps you to get rid of mucus, or congestion in
the sinuses or lungs.
During Covid wave, one needs to ensure
the immunity is not low as, otherwise, it can give room for the virus to attack
the cells in the body. Prevention is always better than cure, so stay tuned to
Bhramara Mudra for at least 20 minutes a day.
In addition, follow the other
usual protocols of Social Distancing, wearing a Mask sanitizing hands, stopping
spitting in public places and protecting oneself in every possible manner
without taking any silly risks.
There is no need to rush for a bed or
oxygen if you practice Mudras, for it is verily the Panchabhootas, which
every individual was gifted with at birth.
Why run helter-skelter to get ghee when you have butter in your
hands? It is a question of clarifying
the butter to get the desired result, is it not? Similarly, when you have the most
powerful five elements (Fire- represented by the thumb, Air- represented by
Index finger, Space represented by Middle finger, Earth or Bhoomi represented
by the ring finger and last but not the least, Water represented by the little
finger) bestowed to you at birth, irrespective of caste or creed, it is for the
individual to tap the resources and ensure safety of health. A mudra specialist
would be able to guide you to the dos and don’ts involved in a Mudra.
Just to cite an example of how Mudras are so gifted and operate from one's birth, if
you notice, a new-born baby’s first position is the Adi Mudra as it is seen
curling its four fingers on both hands over the thumb immediately on birth; Adi
Mudra is hence the first Mudra, increases breathing and lung capacity, thus
increasing oxygen flow throughout the body. Adi (pronounced as Aadi in
Sanskrit) means Primordial and there are as many as 74 variations in the Adi
Mudra which can be resorted to with a yogic pose but the basic version should
suffice during the pandemic from one’s home.
Knowledge of the right mudra helps to alleviate health issues. Tablets give room for side-effects, whereas Mudras, as hand gestures are totally safe. As a matter of daily routine, follow it with the Chin Mudra to remain calm. Fold the index finger to touch the base of the thumb and keep the other three fingers upright for Chin mudra.
There is bound to be anxiety and fear
writ large on humanity but it can be overcome by practicing the Chin mudra
which helps to de-stress and remove agitation in the minds. When you perform
these mudras, you envelop a sense of peace emerging and the fingers when
lightly pressed bring forth an energy that is
eminent and felt. This is the
famous Mudra that Lord Buddha executed under the Bodhi tree to get
enlightenment. He was an epitome of
calmness and radiance. You too can develop the radiance with your persistent
efforts at this Chin Mudra.
When doing this, it is advisable to perform
deep breathing exercises with slow exhalations to ensure that lung capacity is
to its optimum. Gradually, you will
realize, there is no need to fear when you hear the sirens of ambulances, which
earlier disturbed you. Each time you feel disturbed, get into the Chin mudra
and stay in it for about 20 minutes.
You can execute whilst you are on a journey too, as long as you are not
in the driving seat.
You are helping your body to remain calm and
assisting it from reacting adversely to situations beyond control, for, you are
the change-maker of your destiny.
After completing Mudras have a glass of
water and relax. It is mandatory to sit
and have water always and not drink water in a standing or walking
posture. Bless the water before you
drink and express gratitude for the same with every tumbler you drink as water
is a great ingredient to dilute and destroy toxins from the body. Unwinding is important each day to help you
stay active and healthy. Just a few
minutes for one’s good health is warranted each day so that you don’t have to
rush to the doctor during the lockdown at the drop of a hat, when beds and
oxygen are scarce. Stay safe.
