DRONES Technology improving by the hour –
India hooked to be one of the largest players
Today we pay our
phone, electricity bills and every other payment online by Google Pay/ Phone Pe / WhatsApp in a jiffy
with many more such contenders in the pipeline as options for releasing
payments via online. In the 1960’s we had to stand
in queue to pay our bills and I remember doing so wearing my school uniform
with deadlines to meet. Paying the EB/
Metro water/ Property tax / phone bills, etc., in a serpentine queue is no
joke, especially when the sun is up and I vividly recollect there used to be no
shelter those days from the blazing rays of the worst of summer or the
incessant rains that battered, oblivious to one’s discomforts out of leaky roof-tops.
All these nightmarish, endless hardships seem like a distant dream now, as
technology has given room for new inventions. Yes, I am a living witness to the
same.
Now tree plantation
drives are undertaken as a norm by Corporate as part of their CSR activities
with Drone machines brought in to execute the same on a fast-forward mode.
Garuda Aerospace is into the agricultural segment of Drones in India.
Then, ruling the
roost were academics that gave birth to Doctors, Engineers, IAS Officers, Army
– Police- Navy, Teachers, etc. The
era of Drones (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) has just commenced. There is a need to
understand what the UAV can do, the areas it can serve in, its usefulness, and
therefore there is a beeline for students wanting to enroll and get trained in UAV.
There is a high
demand for technical trainers as it is a specialized subject which has just
sky-rocketed and lent its ears to a beeline of students who are wanting to know
more and pursue their line of studies in UAV which is the ‘in-thing’ now. Being in vogue matters, as it is also Vitamin
-M in a situation as now, which is bereft of anything worthwhile, considering that
hardly anything arose out of the recently pronounced Budget from the finance
minister for the common man. This country as large as ours would need many UAV
operators and specialists which is a win-win situation transforming not only
individual lives, but that of our country too.
Studying what is
relevant for the ‘morrow makes sense and students would do well to imbibe the
new technology that is to prevail for a long time now.
The new Union
Budget is also in favor of drones for usage in agriculture to map the crops and
become part of digitization. As a tip of
the iceberg, let me inform you that there is an advanced Drone Pilot training
program coming up shortly. Already there are increasing opportunities in the
drone industry abroad and many countries are already going great guns covering
many aspects to how it is being used extensively in their counties. To name a
few:
Ensuring climate change,
Going Carbon Neutral
UK is on the scene
with its leading drone company, Sky Revolutions making an impact for carbon
emissions and ensuring climate change by becoming carbon neutral. According to Ben Gorham,
Director of Sky Revolutions. “We agreed to prioritize the work during 2021. The
process helped us kick-start a range of initiatives including equipment
recycling, tree-planting for new employees and the introduction of a new supply
chain policy that encourages our partners and suppliers to provide sustainable
services.”
Automated
on-demand delivery services
According
to sources, Magellan Rx Management is just the latest among a growing number of
organizations that are partnering with Zipline worldwide. It is pertinent to
mention here that Zipline designs, manufactures and operates the world’s
largest automated on-demand delivery service, completing over 235,000
commercial deliveries so far, with a delivery made once every four minutes on
average, which goes to highlight the speed at which the operations are executed
by way of the approach of adopting drone technology to their rescue. It is to be noted however, that this option
will first be made accessible to Magellan Rx members of North Carolina service
area and will offer a re-imagined consumer-focused approach to serving
healthcare patients there.
Healthcare &
Delivery of medications to homes
As for USA, they
have always prioritized healthcare and such being the scenario, not surprisingly,
Zipline and Magellan RX
aimed to deliver medications to homes via UAV. It is for the delivery of prescription
medications, which will include specialty medications for treatment of chronic,
complex conditions, directly to patients’ homes by drone.
Surveillance & more--- geared to benefit Industrial, Energy &
Port sectors
Despite an overall dismal trend with Corona on the heels of nations
worldwide, drone-in-a-box solutions leader Azur Drones disclosed that it
has secured nearly €8 million in funding to support its development in 2022
after its steady growth performance in 2021.
The company,
originally designed for surveillance applications, is increasingly requested by
industrials to conduct various other applications to support their operations.
The drone-in-a-box solution has been deployed for over 2 years on critical
sites of large industrial companies with major players from the chemical
industry. It is estimated that with over 20,000 autonomous flights and nearly
200 daily users, it seeks to continue this
diversification in 2022 with the launch of new solutions dedicated to
industrial inspection, gas detection and quantification that will benefit the
industrial, energy and port sectors.
Delivery
alternative during Corona crisis in India
In India, Mr. Vikram Singh CEO & Founder of Tech Eagle states that
Drones is a new delivery alternative, rapidly emerging as an alternate
solution, especially at a time when global supply chains have been disrupted
and much of the aviation industry has been anchored during the pandemic.
Job openings in
India envisaged
The Central Govt. of India headed by Shri. Narendra Modi, as PM of India is taking giant steps to improve the living condition across India, thereby keeping abreast with the rest of the world to provide an iconic Bharat by promoting the Drone industries, as well as giving more scope and opportunities to the current generation to pursue this line of study to better their prospects for betterment in life.
India isn’t far behind as we have over 10 companies across India in the different Drone segments, albeit in a nascent stage. The Sun sets, only to rise yet again and seemingly the drone technology too is similar in fashion, opting for new risings globally with each passing day. Drone Companies in India are having several positions for Drone Industry coming up soon and the new emergence is sure to create a big surge of new entrants teeming with energy and bubbling with enthusiasm to change the market, true to the dictum, yesterday is a forgotten past and today is the new- in and here to stay. Stay tuned for job openings and portfolios in India from a trending industry.
All this is just the tip of the iceberg as companies world-wide extend their arms wide open, to engage themselves in UAV as their mainstream and structure to position themselves in accordance with the expected increase in deployments of new hires to match their requirement for R&D, support and operations for their visionary goals for the second half of 2022. With plans set and curtains drawn to open out a new era of technology hitherto unknown, yet the possibility of reaching the skies with a boundary that is like a mirage, looms large --- ever expanding, over the fence, in terms of what it has to offer.
The pride of India
would lie in Drones. We stand and await the turn of events to
follow.
